FAQ

  • Do I need a referral?

Michigan is a Direct Access state, so you do not need a referral from your doctor to receive services at Movewell. There are still some guidelines to this law, so please reach out if you have any questions.

  • Do you accept my insurance?

Movewell is out-of-network with all insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid. This allows us to provide the highest quality of care for our patients and limits barriers to plan of care. We collect payment at the time of service in the form of cash, credit card, FSA, HSA.

You can choose to file for reimbursement through insurance for your visit, which may cover some or all of your cost. If you are interested in knowing what your out-of-network reimbursement is, call your insurance provider to ask about “out-of-network physical therapy”. Upon request we will provide a superbill with all necessary information to be submitted. It is the patients responsibility to do so.

  • How soon after giving birth can I begin physical therapy?

It is suggested you come in for your first visit around 4-6wks after birth. If questions/concerns arise prior to this time, you can set up a 30min virtual wellness appointment.

  • Can I bring my baby/child in?

We know how hard child care can be sometimes, so please don’t hesitate to bring your child in, no matter the age. We have an elevator that should allow for easy access with a stroller.

  • Can I bring my partner in?

Absolutely! Though it is not necessary, it allows us to educate your partner as well in ways he/she/they can best support you at home.

  • What should I wear?

If you are a pelvic health patient, you can wear whatever is comfortable for you! It is helpful to have a sports bra on if that is something you are comfortable with.

If you are a running patient or a wellness client, athletic attire is suggested.

  • What should I expect my first visit?

Regardless of your concern, the first visit includes a lot of information gathering as well as a movement, joint, and muscle assessment.

If you are a pelvic health patient, an internal exam may be completed with your full consent and written agreement. If you prefer to not have an internal exam, we are completely ok with that.

  • How do I find your location?

We are located above the Outpost on 8th street, downtown Holland, MI. You may park in the back parking lot (off of 7th street) and enter through the back glass doors. Our business name will be located on the doors. You may use either the elevator to the right or the staircase up to the 2nd floor. (The right elevator button has our name by it).

  • I'm pregnant, can I still receive treatment?

Yes yes yes, absolutely! We love treating the pregnancy population and are trained in safe treatment techniques, positions, and exercises. You should not be in pain throughout your pregnancy and you should feel confident and prepared as you approach your due date. You may come in at any point throughout your pregnancy and it is recommended even if you do not have pain/symptoms.
